Lot Description
A 1920's silver fruit basket of oval pedestal form, applied foliate scroll and bead rim enclosing a vertical pierced border with ribbon tied swag motifs and further scrolling foliage, with central swing handle and conforming bead rim to the oval foot. Hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd., Sheffield 1925. Maximum length measures 11 inches (28 cm), weight 21.65 ozt (673.5 grams).

Condition Report
The basket displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. It is quite heavily tarnished and dull in appearance so would benefit from a clean. Numerous heavier scratches and nicks visible to the centre. Some slight dints including one with a patch of deep scratches/marks. Swing handle appears in good working order. The hallmarks are clear and legible although the maker's mark is partly worn, also part hallmarks to handle and impressed maker's name to underside of foot.
