Lot Description

A small Victorian silver salver of shaped circular outline, having foliate, shell and bead borders enclosing engraved floral motifs to a monogrammed centre, the whole raised on three claw and ball feet. Hallmarked Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall), London 1871. Diameter measuring 8 inches (20.3 cm), weight 9.94 ozt (309.3 grams).

The salver displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous heavier scratches and nicks or pitting marks, mainly visible to the underside and centre of the salver. Also some small dints seen from both sides, the largest one visible to the centre. The hallmarks are clear and legible. Also with impressed numbers 5153.
