Lot Description
A pair of mid-nineteenth century Indian Colonial silver peppers, the tapering crested body standing on a circular footed base rising to the shell and scroll rim and with differing pierced covers. Indian Colonial maker's marks for George Gordon & Co with Peter & Alexander Orr, Madras. Height measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), gross weight 5.8 ozt (181 grams).

Condition Report
The pepper appear quite worn displaying heavy general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous shallow dents including some to the base therefore they wobble. One also lopsided. Crests heavily worn. Repair to one finial, this cover is also difficult to remove.
