Lot Description
A Portuguese four piece part tea service comprising teapot, hot water pot, cream jug and twin-handled sugar bowl with lid, each of circular tapering form to a footed base, with lobed decoration and conforming globular finials to the tea and hot water pot lids. All impressed with the Portuguese Second Standard mark (833 fineness) for Porto Assay Office, alongside a further mark. Gross weight 41.85 ozt (1301.6 grams).

Condition Report
The tea service displays some general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Some quite heavy tarnishing is visible throughout and all the pieces would benefit from a clean and polish. Some small surface dints and bumps including a couple of heavier ones to the hot water pot lid. Hinged lids are a little loose but appear in working order. One of the insulators to the teapot handle is broken. Handles are possibly filled. The struck marks are legible.
