Lot Description
A nineteenth century Russian white metal spice tower, having a removable upper section with flag finial and pointed arch sides decorated with quatrefoil motifs, some pierced, and raised on a short knopped stem to a stepped square base. Struck with an Assay mark for Vasily Peretrutov (Astrakhan 1815-1827). Maximum height measures 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm), weight 4.74 ozt (147.5 grams).

Condition Report
The spice tower displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier patches of tarnishing and dirt to some areas and would benefit from a clean and polish. Some slight dints and bumps, also some rounding and flattening to the decoration. Marked to both parts, also with a second mark 'KIOV'.
