Lot Description

A mid-Victorian silver sauce ladle, the shell moulded terminal having engraved lion crest, hallmarked The Portland Co., London 1859, length measures 7 4/8 inches (19 cm). Together with a similar silver fish knife having engraved lion crest to terminal, hallmarked Marshall & Sons, Edinburgh 1851, a 1930's silver spoon having enamelled Bournemouth crest terminal, D V Chapman, Birmingham 1934 and a 1950's silver cased folding fruit knife having two steel blades, Charles Westwood & Sons, Sheffield 1958. Gross weight 5.53 ozt (171.9 grams). (4).

Overall items in good to poor condition. Ladle, fish knife and spoon each displaying light surface marks, rubbing and wear commensurate with age and use, hallmarks clear to each. Fruit knife displaying heavier wear and rubbing to casing with hallmarks partly worn and blade hinges stiff.
