Lot 634

Lot Description

A 1920's silver hip flask of plain, slightly curved oblong form with removable lower section, the hinged lid having a bayonet locking mechanism and engraved with a family crest. Hallmarked Stokes & Ireland Ltd (William Henry Stokes & Arthur George Ireland), Chester 1920. Maximum height measures 5 1/4 inches (13.3 cm), gross weight 7.74 ozt (240.8 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The hip flask displays general surface scratches, contact marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some quite heavy tarnishing to some areas and would benefit from a polish. Some slight surface dints, mainly visible to corners. Also visible seam lines. Locking mechanism appears in good working order. The main hallmarks are clear and legible, also part hallmarks to hinged section and removable cup. Those on the cup are quite worn but still legible.
