Lot Description

A Victorian silver posy holder of tapering form with flared rim, decorated with florally engraved oval panels and one vacant, further engraved with foliate motifs and raised on a tripod base.

Hallmarked Colen Hewer Cheshire, London 1865. Height measures 15 1/4 inches (13.5 cm), gross weight 1.96 ozt (61.24 grams).

The posy holder appears in fairly good overall condition displaying some general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. One of the supports for the feet is loose. The hallmarks appear a little rubbed and maker's mark is partly worn,

but all are still legible.
