Lot Description
A selection of four cigarette cases, to include a 1930's silver-gilt engine-turned rectangular shaped case with personal inscription to the interior, hallmarked Charles S Green & Co Ltd, Birmingham 1936. Together with a silver 1920's scrolling foliate engraved square shape case with monogrammed shield cartouche, a mid-twentieth century white metal case and a further case with animal and foliate design. Gross weighable silver 13.26 ozt (412.5 grams).(4).

Condition Report
Overall condition fair. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Foliate and animal design case features a tiger leaping upon a deer or other animal, with peacocks amongst scrolling foliate design. The case is believed to be base metal or with very low silver content. 1920s case with shallow engraving to both sides, monogrammed CCP or similar. Silver gilt with wear to the edges, some deeper scratches, engraved to the inside of the lid 'J.H. Charters, Secretary, Tennis Court Club. 1933-1937, From A Few Of His Friends'. General discolouration to outside of case. White metal case stamped 'silver'. Dents, splits, holes and losses, significant wear to the decoration, monogrammed EM. Inside engraved 'from Capt. D.L. Sellars, INDIA 1945'.
