Lot Description
A late nineteenth century Russian silver-gilt and champlevé enamel cigarette case, the oblong hinged form entirely decorated in blue red and white enamel of tessellated design and opening to a silver-gilt interior. Russian assay marks to include the combined Moscow city and standard mark and the Latin maker's mark GK for Gustav Klingert. Length measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), weight 4.2 ozt (132 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous enamel tiles missing. Gilding discoloured. Hinge and clasp in good working order. Russian marks present are clear and legible.
