Lot Description
A late 19th century gold, garnet and seed pearl brooch. The engraved bar and scrolling ribbon motif, with graduated circular-shape purple garnet and seed pearl accent floral line, suspending a series of bead drops. Length 6.8cms. Weight 12.3gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Soft solder visible to various areas.
<li>Smallest gem possibly deficient.
<li>Few slightly larger dents.
<li>Seed pearl untested for natural origin. The seed pearl is drilled through, wear around drill hole.
<li>Garnets a well matched medium purple hue.<p>
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. One garnet with small chip.<p>
<li>Probable maker's mark to clasp, F with goblet surmount, within a rectangular cartouche.
