Great War, bronze Memorial Plaque named to 'William Austen Kerl', with original card casing and official letter from Buckingham Palace. Very fine.
Rifleman W A Kerl enlisted in August 1914 and died on 4 June 1915 aged 21; he is commemorated on the Menin Gate. He served with the London Regiment (Queen's Westminster Rifles). He was the son of Emily Kerl (nee Austen) of 63 Lewisham High Rd., London and the late William James Kerl.
