Knights of the Golden Horn, gold badge for services, in the shape of a shield, hunting horn below monogram within circle, rev. engraved ‘Presented to J Welford K.O.S. by his comrades of the No.35 Brancepeth encampment of the G.U.O. of the K.G.H. in recognition of his services to the camp & order March 8th 1922’, 31x38mm, 15ct., 12.0g, with suspension loop and helm suspender. Extremely fine.
The Knights of the Golden Horn grew out of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes and was principally a Northern organisation whose Lodges were called encampments.
