An early 20th century gold diamond and gem-set butterfly brooch. The diamond point wings with pear-shape emerald, oval-shape ruby and oval sapphire cabochon highlights, to the pearl and old-cut diamond body. Length 3.4cms. Weight 5.6gms.

<li>Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Later safety chain and fittings, possibly converted.
<li>Diamonds well matched.
<li>Old-cut diamond estimated weight under 0.15ct.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Principal diamond with small chip to the upper facets.
<li>Emeralds are a fairly well matched deep medium slightly bluish green hue. Rubies are a fairly well matched deep medium slightly purplish red hue.
<li>One of the sapphires shows faint asterism under strong light.<p>
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
<li>Pearl untested for natural origin.
<li>The pearl is semi-baroque with varying lustre and typical small surface blemishes.
<li>Approximate dimensions of pearl: 7.7, by 6, by 5.2mms.
