An ormolu-mounted Hatterel cassolet or urn and cover
Early 19th century
The cover with spirally-reeded ball finial and domed surmount to the spreading cover, the underside with cylindrical socket having ribbed rim and medial band over acanthus-cast bulging base and circular drip-tray, the ovoid body with acanthus collar between bearded horned satyr mask handles, on acanthus apron and spreading socle with canted square foot with disc-decorated edges, 200mm high, 1,237gms.
