A late 19th century gold and amethyst brooch. The oval-shape amethyst, within a floral scrolling cannetille surround. Length 3.2cms. Weight 9.3gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Surface scratches, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Brooch shows evidence of repair to the surround.<p>
<li> It has a replacement base metal pin. <p>
<li>Cannetille surround is deficient in one localised area.<p>
<li>Amethyst medium purple, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions to the side of the stone.<p>
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
