A late Victorian gold garnet brooch. The oval-shape garnet, with pear-shape garnet sides, to the openwork scrolling surround. Length 5.7cms. Weight 16gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Surface scratches, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Soft solder repair work to pin clasp.<p>
<li>Localised areas of discolouration to reverse of brooch.<p>
<li>Garnet medium reddish-purple, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
