A late 19th century gold amethyst and split pearl brooch. The oval-shape amethyst, within a split pearl surround. Length 2.5cms. Weight 8.4gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>The brooch has been put together from various different late 19th century components. Visible solder to the back where the collet and frame have been secured together.
<li>There is a replacement backing to the hinge and catch as well as a replacement pin.
<li>Amethyst medium pinkish purple, weak to moderate saturation of colour, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Stone in good condition with minor abrasions.There are some visible scratches to the table facet.<p>
<li>The split pearls are fairly well matched.
<li>Cracks and damage visible to some split pearls.
<li>One replacement imitation split pearl.
