Lot Description

An early 20th century seed pearl and diamond choker. Designed as three openwork rose-cut diamond and seed pearl foliate panels, to the later replacement black fabric band and clasp. Length 33cms.

<li> Overall condition good. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear and age. <p>

<li> Seed pearls well matched. <p>

<li> Seed pearls white with pink overtones and fair to muted lustre. <p>

<li> Seed pearls in good to fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. <p>

<li> Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate carat weight estimation. <p>

<li> Diamonds well matched. <p>

<li> Diamonds fairly bright and lively. <p>

<li> Light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen with magnification. <p>

<li> Diamonds in good condition with minor abrasions. <p>

<li> Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate and full colour and clarity assessment. <p>

<li> Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source. <p>
