Lot Description

An Edwardian 15ct gold diamond and ruby brooch. The old-cut diamond and circular-shape ruby line, within a lozenge-shape surround, to the cannetille bar with sphere terminals. Estimated total diamond weight 0.10ct. Hallmarks for Chester, 1903. Length 4.6cms. Weight 5.4gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Visible wear and tarnishing to the brooch

<li>Diamonds fairly well matched.

<li>Diamonds fairly bright.<p>

<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>One of the outer diamonds is significantly chipped

<li>Rubies medium pinkish red, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>

<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>

<li>The back pin is metal and a possible replacement.
