Lot Description

A small Victorian silver salver of circular form, oblique gadrooning to rim enclosing a plain centre and the whole raised on three foliate feet. Hallmarked Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall), London 1885. Diameter measures 10 1/2 inches (26.5 cm), weight 19.24 ozt (598.3 grams).

The salver displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing, staining and discoloured patches are visible and it would benefit from a clean and polish. Several dints and bumps visible to the centre, also numerous heavier scratches and contact marks. The hallmarks are clear and legible, slight distortion to maker's mark but still legible.
