Lot Description

A cased set of four late Victorian silver salts, each modelled as a shell with gilt interior and raised upon three ball feet, together with three matching silver spoons having spiralling stems. Hallmarked Birmingham 1894. Diameter of each measures 2 3/8 inches (6 cm), weight 2.49 ozt (77.4 grams).

One spoon is missing. Each salt displaying signs of wear and use with rubbing and small losses to gilding. Hallmarks worn and maker's marks illegible. Case with light wear and few scuffs to exterior.
