Lot Description
A continental ladle, probably German late nineteenth century, having a fluted ovoid shape bowl and short scrolled stem leading to a tapered bone handle with shell motif terminal. Impressed number '13' at the base of the stem, possibly indicating .812 fineness, alongside a further indistinct mark. Length measuring 13 1/2 inches (34.3 cm).

Condition Report
The ladle displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Likely solder repairs to the scrolled stem. The interior of bowl was likely once gilded but this is now faded. A couple of minor cracks to bone handle. The handle is in two sections.
