A mid-nineteenth century Russian silver fish slice, the pierced openwork blade with central stylised engraved depiction of a fish, the handle tapered and facetted. Russian assay marks to include the assay master's mark for Nicholai Bubrovin, possibly 1840, Moscow and the maker's mark probably for Alexander Afanasiev. Length measuring 13 inches (33 cm).

In good overall condition. The seam to the handle is pitted and a rivet pin is missing to the join. Russian assay marks partly rubbed. No personal engravings.
