Lot Description

A continental casket of serpentine bombe form, decorated throughout with foliate scrolls and floral motifs, the hinged cover with raised flower finial and opening to reveal a gilded interior, the whole raised on four similarly decorated feet. Impressed 800 to the underside. Maximum length measures 7 inches (17.8 cm), weight 16.13 ozt (502 grams).

The casket displays general wear including surface scratches, marks and tarnishing. Would benefit from a polish. Minor dints. Some pitting marks visible to interior. Likely damage and repair to one corner, visible as a dark patch to the interior. Remnants of sticker mark to underside. The hinged lid appears in working order, although it does not sit quite flush.
