Lot 611

Lot Description

A late Victorian cased set of six silver teaspoons with matching sugar nips and sifter spoon, having shell bowls leading to a spiral twist stem with apostle terminal, hallmarked Birmingham 1896, maker's marks distorted. Together with three similar Edwardian cased sets, hallmarks for London 1905 and Sheffield 1903 and 1908, maker's marks include Henry Wigfull and William Hutton & Sons Ltd. Weight 12.05 ozt (374.6 grams). (4).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All the sets appear to be in fairly good overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some slightly heavier wear around the edges and tips of the bowls but they all seem to have retained their shape. Heavier tarnishing to some and all would benefit from a polish. The hallmarks are mostly clear and legible.
