An early Victorian silver snuff box by Nathaniel Mills, the oblong form with reeded banded decoration, floral scroll rim and personal inscription to the hinged lid which opens to a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1839. Length measuring 3 1/8 inches (8 cm), weight 3.3 ozt (105 grams).
To the Revd. John Baird, Minister of Yetholm, a token of respect & esteem from a sincere friend in Edinburgh 8th January 1842.'
