A William IV silver-gilt vinaigrette, the oblong form with engine-turned decoration, initialled cartouche, reeded edge and opening to a silver-gilt interior with foliate pierced grille, hallmarked Thomas Shaw, Birmingham 1831, length measuring 3.8 cm. Together with a foreign match box holder, length measuring 6 cm. Gross weight 60 grams. (2).

Condition Report
The vinaigrette displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use, gilding worn to the outside, hinges in good working order, lid rises slightly in the closed position, the hallmarks are clear and legible. Minor dents to match box holder.
