Lot Description

An Edwardian silver vesta case of rounded rectangular form with engine-turned decoration and vacant circular name panel to front. Hallmarked William Neale, Chester 1901. Height measuring 3.8 cm, gross weight 25 grams.

The vesta displays general wear including surface scratches, marks and tarnishing. Considerable loss of surface detail to decoration and it has worn away in some areas. Heavier wear around edges and the corners are now very rounded. No personal engravings. Hinged lid in good working order. The hallmarks to flange are clear and legible, part hallmarks to lid are very worn.
