Lot Description

A mid Victorian snake necklace, circa 1850. The foil-back purple and red garnet snake head with diamond point eye highlight and replacement seed pearl heart drop, suspended from the snake-link chain. Length 41cms. Weight 19.3gms. With associated case.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.<p>

<li>The garnet fairly well saturated, red-pink with fair clarity and typical inclusions.<p>

<li>The seed pearls well matched cream in colour. Slight greying consistent with age.<p>

<li>Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.<p>
