Lot Description

Three 19th century boxes. Comprising  a writing box having brass campaign style fittings and personal engraved shield cartouche to the hinged cover, opening to reveal a sloping writing surface concealing two further hidden compartments, 12” x 9” x 6” high (30 cm x 23 cm x 15 cm), another inlaid writing box (incomplete), and a mother-of-pearl inlaid table box. (3).

Each in poor condition. First writing box with deep scratches and lifting to veneers, writing surface has been detached and crudely repaired.  Second with losses and deep scratches to exterior and interior writing surface missing. Third with heavy wear, splits and scratches to exterior, interior would require re-lining.
