Lot Description

A mid to late 19 century French red tortoiseshell and boulle mantel clock. Japy Freres Paris. The 5.5 inch circular dial with white enamel cellular chapters having blue Roman numerals. The two train movement, outside countwheel-striking on a bell, stamped  ‘Woppenhein Paris 1910’, and with 1849 Japy Freres medaille d’argent exhibition stamp. The balloon case with seated putto surmount over foliate scroll boulle work, quatrefoil frets and dragon headed supports, 17“, (43cm) high.
