Lot Description
J.W. BENSON - a gentleman's trench style wrist watch. 9ct yellow gold case, hallmarked Birmingham 1936. Numbered 14552. Unsigned manual wind movement. White enamel dial with Arabic hour markers, subsidiary seconds dial to six. Fitted to an unsigned brown leather strap with gold plated pin buckle. 33mm.

<li>Movement is currently functioning.
<li>Movement has scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear visible to the naked eye.S crew heads show signs of previous intervention. Movement shows some surface rust.
<li>Dial shows marks.
<li>Hands show marks and tarnishing. Minute hand may be a later replacement. Hour hand shows surface rust.
<li>Glass has noticeable scratches and marks.
<li>Case shows scratches, marks and dints. Case back has a dent. Hinges have wear to the corners.
<li>Crown is currently functioning correctly; the surface has scratches and marks. Crown has wear to the gold plating.
<li>Strap is in a poor condition with noticeable wear, marks, creasing and discolouration. Straps metal fixtures show tarnishing.
<li>Buckle shows wear to the plating as well as marks and scratches. Buckle also shows tarnishing.<p>
