Lot Description

A mid 19th century gold Holbeinesque, garnet, pearl and enamel pendant. The foil-back circular garnet cabochon and pearl centre, within a rose-cut diamond, blue, red and green enamel circular-shape surround, suspending a similarly designed drop. Length 5.7cms. Weight 12.6gms. With case.

<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Possibly re-enamelled drop, well matched, thicker enamel, some gapping to the central garnet and slightly different shades of enamel.

<li>Some scratches and dents visible to the edging of the pendant.

<li>There are some small chips and scratches to areas of the enamel.

<li>Principal garnet is pinkish brown, with scattered typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye, some inclusions are surface reaching.

<li>The garnet to the drop is darker, with scattered inclusions visible with the unaided eye.

<li>The pearls are fairly well matched, visible blisters and and blemishes visible. Pearls untested.

<li>Scratches, scuffs and areas of discolouration to the box.
