Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver dish of oval form, the sides with simple hole piercing, engraved family crests and date 1912, having twin lion mask and drop ring handles and raised on four claw and ball feet, missing liner. Hallmarked Frederick Charles Britten & Frederick William Britten, London 1911. Maximum length including rim measuring 7 inches (17.7 cm), weight 23.14 ozt (720 grams).

The dish displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing is visible throughout and it  would benefit from a clean and polish. Some shallow dints and bumps, also several heavier scratches and nicks. The hallmarks are clear and legible, also part hallmarks to handles.
