Lot Description
A pair of Russian silver candlesticks, each with a weighted square base rising to a bulbous knopped stem and socket with removable coronet style nozzle, decorated with stylised foliate borders throughout. Russian Assay marks to base including the first Kokoshnik mark (1896 - 1908). Maximum height measures 12 1/2 inches (32 cm).

Condition Report
Both candlesticks display some general wear, surface scratches and marks. They appear quite polished but there is also tarnishing to the metal. Some minor dints and bumps and a knock to the top of one of the sockets. Small split at one of the base corners. Slight flattening to decoration. Replacement baize to bases. Likely filled throughout. Distortion and rubbing to some of the Assay marks on the bases. Further marks to top of each socket and to nozzles.
