Lot Description

A Victorian silver cased Communion set, comprising a chalice, flagon and paten, each decorated with raised quatrefoil motifs and stylised flower and leaf borders. Hallmarked George Unite, Birmingham 1876. Height of chalice measures 4 inches (10 cm), weight not including cork stopper to flagon 5.62 ozt (174.8 grams).

The set appears in good overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface scratches and marks and light tarnishing. The interiors of the chalice and flagon were likely once gilded but this is now faded. Some scratched or file marks to underside of flagon. The hallmarks are mostly clear and legible. General wear, losses and discolouration to case.
