A German silver novelty salt and pepper set, modelled as a male and female in continental dress, German assay marks to include Reichsmark and 800 beneath, height of male measures 3 1/8 inches (8 cm). Together with an Italian silver chafing dish having shell moulded detail the hinged cover and with applied wooden handle, Italian assay mark beneath, width measures 4 5/8 inches (11.75 cm). Gross weight 10.46 ozt (325.5 grams). (2).

Salt and pepper each displaying rubbing and wear to the whole but overall fair condition, marks worn with slight distortion. Chafing dish displaying minor surface marks and light tarnishing, and hinge in working order.
