Lot Description
A nineteenth century cased gilt posy holder, the tapered interlaced openwork body with trefoil opening embellished with scrolls of enamel and set with turquoise and garnet cabochons, the similarly decorated tapered handle with bulbous terminal and attached chains with finger ring and pin with swallow terminal. In fitted case. Probable continental marks to include ER. Length measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm), weight 1.7 ozt (54 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Losses and chips to enamel. Many of the quatrefoil settings are distorted and some garnets have been replaced with paste. Probable continental marks to include ER appear distorted and visible to jump-ring sections and finger ring. Case noticeably worn, hinge in working order.
