Lot Description
Two 1920's silver cigarette cases, the first of rounded square form with foliate scroll engraving throughout and monogrammed to one corner, the second of smaller oblong shape with similar decoration, both hallmarked Birmingham 1928, with maker's marks for Frederick Field Ltd and Henry Matthews. Together with two match cases with engine-turned decoration, hallmarks for Birmingham 1925 and London 1939. Gross weight 5.97 ozt (185.8 grams). (4).

Condition Report
In varied state, all four items displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some knocks and dints. Heavier scratches and marks to the larger cigarette case, also impressions from the decoration visible to the reverse of the lid. Hinged and clasps appear in working order, some small gaps remaining when closed. Some heavier tarnish and rust visible to pull out metal sections of the match cases. Rubbing and distortion to some of the hallmarks but they are still legible.
