Lot Description
A continental snuff box of rounded rectangular form, the hinged lid with raised panel showing a hunting scene with stags being chased by hounds and a huntsman on foot, and a further panel to the base depicting a swan capturing a snake, all within foliate decorated borders. Two struck marks visible, a letter H within a diamond shape punch and a backwards F joined to the letter R in a square punch, possibly early nineteenth century Austria-Hungary. Measuring 7.7 cm by 5.7 cm, weight 77.3 grams.
