Lot Description

A George V silver foliate engraved vesta case having personal initials, hallmarked Samuel M Levi, Birmingham 1912. Together with a silver sovereign case of oblong form having foliate scrollwork engraving and vacant circular cartouche, the hinged cover opening to reveal dual apertures, W H Tandy & Sons, Chester 1914, (A/F). Gross weight 1.57 ozt (46.9 grams).

Vesta case in good condition displaying light surface wear and marks to exterior, hinge a little stiff, and hallmarks clear and legible. Pin from hinge to sovereign case is missing and so cover is detached, with denting and distortion to exterior, both aperture springs in good order however interior is worn and tarnished, hallmarks are rubbed but legible with part hallmarks throughout.
