Lot Description

An Edwardian silver vesta case of plain oblong form with engraved family crest to the front, hallmarked A & J Zimmerman Ltd., Birmingham 1904. Together with two further Edwardian silver vesta cases, one plain and the other monogrammed, hallmarks for Chester 1908 and Birmingham 1903, a slightly later plain silver vesta case, Birmingham 1916 and an Edwardian silver sovereign holder case. Gross weight 110.6 grams. (5).

Total lot weight: No

All the cases display general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing in keeping with the age and use. Some small surface dints and bumps and heavier scratches and contact marks to some. Hinges all appear to be in working order, although on a couple of the examples there is a slight gap remaining when closed and the hinges are a little loose on the smallest vesta case. The hallmarks are mostly clear and legible.
