Lot Description

A George III silver wine funnel of typical form, having reeded rims, side clip, simple drilled holes to sieve and removable funnel section. Hallmarked London 1807, maker's mark distorted. Length measures 5 1/2 inches (14 cm), weight 3 ozt (93.2 grams).

The funnel displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Would benefit from a clean and polish. Minor dints and bumps. A couple of rim cracks/splits. Some small solder repairs, especially around rim of funnel. Main hallmarks are clear and legible, maker's mark worn and distorted. Only lion passant and Duty mark visible to removable funnel section.
