Lot 122

Lot Description

A 1930's silver teapot of plain and tapering circular form to a footed base, having reeded border detail, a stained wood scroll handle and a conforming circular finial to the hinged lid. Hallmarked Alexander Clark & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1932. Teapot length measures 9 3/4 inches (24.8 cm), gross weight 13.56 ozt (422 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The teapot appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A few minor dints. The hinged does not sit flush, a small gap remains when in the closed position. The top fixing pin is missing so the handle is a little loose. The hallmarks and maker's mark appear a little rubbed but are all still legible.
