Lot Description

A small American silver dish, the shaped rim with sinuous tendril and foliate motifs in an Art Nouveau style, the base of quatrefoil shape. Impressed 'sterling' to underside alongside maker's mark for R. Wallace & Sons (Connecticut, 1871-present). Maximum diameter measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm), weight 2.58 ozt (80.3 grams).

The dish appears in good overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some rubbing and slight loss of surface detail to raised decoration. Remnants of a sticker to base of interior. Maker's marks are clear and legible.
