Lot Description

A German silver part tea and coffee set, comprising coffee pot, teapot, cream or milk jug and sugar bowl, each of wrythen moulded bulbous form to a footed base and having foliate capped scroll handles, together with a matched circular salver with shaped, moulded rim to a plain centre. All marked with the German reichsmark alongside maker's marks for J.C Osthues, the tea set marked 800 and the salver 835S. Maximum height of coffee pot measures 10 1/2 inches (26.5 cm), maximum diameter of salver measures 13 inches (33 cm), total gross weight 91.99 ozt (2861 grams).

All the pieces appear in a tarnished state with heavier staining to interiors and would all therefore benefit from a clean and polish. Otherwise in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface scratches and marks and some minor surface dints. Larger and heavier scratches and contact marks visible to the salver. Hinged lids appear in good working order.
