Lot Description

A George III and later composite silver canteen for twelve settings, of King's pattern variant comprising twelve silver handled dinner knives and side knives, plus twelve silver dinner forks, side forks, table spoons and soup spoons. Hallmarked for various maker's including Thomas Wallis (II) & Johnathan Hayne, Johnathan Hayne, London, 1818/9 and C J Vander Ltd., Sheffield, 1973. Gross weight exclusive of knives 129.8 ozt (4,037 grams).

Overall appears in fair condition displaying general light signs of wear and use, although with heavy rubbing to terminals causing loss of definition to decoration. With general light surface scratching throughout and some distortion to fork prongs. Hallmarks with slight wear throughout and maker's marks partly worn however still legible.
