Lot 323

Lot Description

A matched set of four George IV and William IV Scottish silver teaspoons and a pair of sugar nips, in Fiddle Shell pattern. Hallmarked Andrew Wilkie, Edinburgh 1822 and 1830, one spoon hallmarked Edinburgh 1833, maker possibly Robert Gordon or Robert Greig. Weight 3.58 ozt (111.5 grams). (5).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All the spoons display general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing in keeping with their age and general use. Heavy tarnishing to some areas and all would benefit from a polish. The 1833 spoon is slightly shorter than the others and the bowl is a little misshapen. The metal of the bowls appears a little thinner. The hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but are mostly clear and legible.
