Lot Description

A pair of early twentieth century silver salad servers, in an Old English style pattern with feather edge, hallmarked Barker Brothers, Chester 1919. Together with a Victorian mother-of-pearl handled silver butter knife, hallmarked Birmingham 1887, a late Victorian folding fruit knife, also with mother-of-pearl handle, an Edwardian silver cased dip pen, two Edwardian napkin rings, a pair of plated knife rests, a plated butter knife and a small tortoiseshell bedside clock. Weighable silver 6.12 ozt (190.2 grams).

In mixed state, all the pieces in the lot displaying general wear, surface scratches and marks in keeping with the age and use. Some tarnishing to the silver and metal. The pierced napkin ring and the pen display some splits and creases in the metal. Fruit knife has a very rounded and blunt tip and some damage to the mother of pearl. There is a small section missing from one of the knife rests. Considerable damage to the tortoiseshell on the clock. The hallmarks, where present, are mostly clear and legible.
